New Online Database - EBSCOhost eBooks Academic Collection is now available for trial in the Library portal. All users are welcome to use and evaluate the database in the evaluation e-form provided.

 

EBSCOhost eBooks Academic Collection is a growing subscription package containing a large selection of multidisciplinary eBook titles representing a broad range of academic subject matter, and is a strong complement for any academic collection. There are more than 132,000 eBooks in this package, including titles from leading university presses such as Oxford University Press, MIT Press, State University of New York Press, Cambridge University Press, University of California Press, McGill-Queen’s University Press, Harvard University Press and many others. Additional academic publishers include Elsevier Ltd.; Ashgate Publishing Ltd; Taylor & Francis Ltd; Sage Publications, Ltd. and John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  All titles are available with unlimited user access, and titles are regularly added to the collection at no additional cost.

  1. INDEX ISLAMICUS ONLINE (Database Evaluation)

  2. THE BRILL DICTIONARY OF RELIGION ONLINE (Database Evaluation)

    The impressively comprehensive Brill Dictionary of Religion (BDR) Online addresses religion as an element of daily life and public discourse, is richly illustrated and with more than 500 entries, the Brill Dictionary of Religion Online is a multi-media reference source on the many and various forms of religious commitment. 

  3. ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF WOMEN & ISLAMIC CULTURES ONLINE (Database evaluation) 

    The Encyclopedia of Women and Islamic Cultures Online is an interdisciplinary, trans-historical, and global project embracing women and Islamic cultures in every region where there have been significant Muslim populations. It aims to cover every topic for which there is significant research, examining these regions from the period just before the rise of Islam to the present. 

  4. ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF ARABIC LANGUAGE AND LINGUISTICS ONLINE (Database Evaluation)

    The Encyclopaedia of Islam (Second Edition) Online sets out the present state of our knowledge of the Islamic World. It is a unique and invaluable reference tool, an essential key to understanding the world of Islam, and the authoritative source not only for the religion, but also for the believers and the countries in which they live.

 

All access via IP Address only (within OUM campus). No Password is needed. Evaluation for each database is also available.

Britannica Online consists of a fully searchable and browsable collection of authoritative references, including Britannica’s latest article database, hundreds of articles not found in the print Britannica, Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (Tenth Edition), the Britannica Book of the Year, and thousands of links to other World Wide Web sites selected by Britannica editors. The online version of Britannica Online is continuously updated and enhanced on a daily basis with new articles, revisions, and related Internet sites.
