"Internally, the quality of a university can be determined by the \r\nevaluation made by its own graduates. Having gone through \r\nthe system and graduated from it, they are in a very good \r\nposition to appraise the quality of education which they have \r\nreceived in terms of preparing them to become more holistic \r\nindividuals equipped with relevant lifelong learning skills. An \r\nonline tracer study conducted by the Ministry of Higher \r\nEducation, Malaysia, in collaboration with all local universities, \r\ncolleges and polytechnics was carried out via a set of \r\nquestionnaires to evaluate the responses from Malaysian \r\ngraduates on the performance of their alma maters. This paper \r\npresents the results of the study conducted on the 2006-2008 \r\nbatches of OUM graduates. It is gratifying to find that OUM \r\ngraduates are generally satisfied with the services provided by \r\nthe university and that the level of satisfaction has improved \r\nover the three years. OUM study programmes have had a high \r\nimpact on the holistic development of graduates, in terms of \r\nself-readiness such as maturity, reliance and teamwork. OUM’s \r\nreputation among its graduates is high and almost all (97.4%) \r\nwould recommend others to pursue higher education at their \r\nalma mater. Finally, more than three-quarters of the graduates \r\nappear to embrace lifelong learning as indicated by their \r\nwillingness to attend additional training after graduation.
