"This is a study of job satisfaction among the employees at Redang Mutiara\r\nResort. A study of job satisfaction is important because it has direct\r\nimplications for organization functioning. Apart of examining the job\r\nsatisfaction among the employees, the aim of the study was also to identify\r\nthe overall management system that was being practiced in the resort. In\r\naddition, the study also tried to determine the relationship between\r\nmanagement style and job satisfaction.\r\nThe study employed a modified Likert scale to measure organizational\r\nmanagement profile and the Job Diagnostic Survey developed by Hackman\r\nand Oldham to measure job satisfaction. A questionnaire was developed to\r\nobtain data from the populations in the resort. Data analysis was done using\r\nthe SPSS programme. Statistical analysis was done using the Spearman's\r\nrank-order correlation for the ordinal data and the chi-square test for the\r\nnominal data.\r\nThe overall job satisfaction level among the employees in the resort was\r\nfound to be 'slightly satisfied'. It was also found that job satisfaction was\r\nrelated to management style and slightly influenced by personnel\r\ncharacteristics such as gender and age.
